Part Used & Method for Pharmaceutical Preparations: The seeds are gathered in winter when the fruit is ripe and then dried in the sun.

Functions: To kill parasites
Indications and Combinations: Parasites in the intestines:

a) Hookworm.
*Use with Basket fern (Guanzhong) and Areca seed (Binglang).

b) Tapeworm.
*Use with Pumpkin seed (Nanguazi) and Areca seed (Binglang).

c) Roundworm.
*Use with Quisqualis fruit (Shijunzi), Chinaberry bark (Kulianpi) and Black plum (Wumei).
Dosage: 30-50 g
Cautions: This herb can be taken with a decoction, but it is most effective when made into a medicine ball with honey and taken directly.
